Mable Wyatt Slagle, 87, of 1985 River Ridge Road, Appomattox, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011. She was the wife of the late William O. Slagle.
Born in Marshall, North Carolina, on October 9, 1923, she was a daughter of the late John Jefferson and Annie Parker Wyatt. She was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church. Mable retired from Appomattox Garment Company after many years of service. Her later years were spent working with her flowers, vegetable garden, and spending time with her family to whom she was devoted.
She is survived by her children, Nancy S. Webb, William S. (Bill) Slagle(Sarah), Linda S. Seay(Richard), and Roger D. Slagle(Judy); two sisters, Mildred Payne of Asheville, NC and Doris Morrow of Fairview, NC; grandchildren, Steve Cawthorn, Donna C. Miller, Vivian S. Giles, Stan Slagle, Daniel Slagle, Kevin Slagle, Matt Webb, Lara S. Peterson, Asheley S. Ferguson, and Breanna Slagle; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Jones and Landon Watson; great grandchildren, Sierra Slagle, Jacob Slagle, Austin Slagle, Wyatt Salinas, Savannah Slagle, Riley Giles, Tyler Slagle, Joey Webb, Rose Giles, Colton Slagle, Ellie Peterson, Jack Giles, Cora Webb, Colin Slagle, Gray Peterson, and Charlie Webb. She was predeceased by three brothers, George Wyatt, Raymond Wyatt, and John Wyatt, Jr. and a sister, Margaret Rice.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16, and other times at the residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 17, at 11:00 a.m., at Hollywood Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Phillips with burial following in the church cemetery.
