Obituary

Mabel Cooter Willhoit Cyrus, 90, of Concord, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008. She was twice widowed, her first husband was the late Benjamin H. Willhoit and her second husband was the late, Alex Robertson Cyrus.
Born in Greenville, TN, October 14, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Minnie Jones Cooter. She was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist where she taught the Primary Sunday School class for close to 40 years.
She is survived by eight grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a niece, Katherine Myers, whom she raised, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two step-daughters, Warma Lane and Sue Gragg; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, May 30, 2008 in Reedy Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. John Muth and Dr. Don Paxton with burial following in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Thursday from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Beckie and Paul Nix, Concord.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Concord Rescue Squad, PO Box 48, Concord, VA 24538 or the Concord Fire Department, PO Box 26, Concord, VA 24538.
