Willis Lyle Harris, 82, of Appomattox was called home Wednesday, December 17, 2008.
Born June 11, 1926 in Buckingham County, he was a son of the late Nanny Evelyn Walton and Willis Ewart Harris. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church and Woodmen of the World.
He is survived by a brother, Marshall Walton Harris and wife, Rachel of Manakin-Sabot; two nephews, Marshall Talmadge Harris and wife, Susie and Peyton Alan Harris and wife, Clover; three great nieces, Rachel, Emily and Grace and a great nephew, Colin.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Wanda and Earl Harris and Jane Thomas for all their care of Lyle.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, at 2:00 pm, at Mount Comfort United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. David Camden.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Friday from 10: 00 – 11:00 am.
