Luz Patria Roman Rohde, 80, of Lynchburg, died on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Walter H. Rohde Jr.
She was born in Viesques, Puerto Rico, on September 11, 1932 a daughter of the late Damiana Ortiz and Florencia Roman. Luz was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children, Jack Henry Rohde of Buckingham, Walter H. Rohde, III and wife, Dorothy of Lynchburg, Ronald A. Rohde and wife, Hope of Hanover, PA, Jeanette Patricia Rohde and Ethel Carmen Young and husband, Mike of San Lino, CA; two brothers, Miguel Angel Ortiz of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands and Carlos Roman, of Vieques, Puerto Rico; two sisters, Carmen Roman and Alicia Roman both of Vieques, Puerto Rico; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Felix Roman and a sister, Gloria Roman.
A Graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday May 15, 2013 in Worsham Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Billy Swan and the Rev. Rusty Small. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
