Lucy May Savage 95, of Meadowcreek Rd., Gladstone, died Tuesday June 30, 2015 in the Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. Twice married, she was the widow of Leonard Cliborne and William Edward Savage.

Born in Buckingham County, she was a daughter of the late Lucy Blanch Bryant and John Letch Jones. She was a member of Spears Mountain Baptist Church. Lucy was all about her grandbabies. Always an open heart, she looked forward to visits from family and friends. She enjoyed social visits, and always welcomed you with an offer of a warm meal. You could never leave Grandmas' home with an empty stomach. She lived to take her grandkids on adventure walks through the woods, or along the creeks back home in Buckingham. She loved the Lord and she let you know that God was her center.

She is survived by her children, Carlton Cliborne and wife, Emily of Luray; and Frances S. Stout and husband, Pete of Kilmarnock; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter; son-in-law, Robert Martin of Gladstone. Lucy was blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. You were all her family and loved deeply by her.

Preceding her in death were one daughter, Ruth Bernell Martin; two sons, Leonard Carol Claiborne and William Leo Savage; and a grandson, Thomas Stout.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, July 3, 2015 in Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Buddy Bryant with burial to follow in the Savage Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
