Lucy Layne Trent Price, 87, of Appomattox, died June 5, 2014 at Appomattox Health & Rehab. She was the widow of Robert E. Trent, Sr.

Lucy was born in Appomattox Co. December 26, 1926 a daughter of the late Nannie Cumbie and E. Taylor Layne, Sr. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and retired employee of Appomattox Garment Co.

She is survived by her son, Robert E. Trent, Jr.; sister, Barbara L. Gowin and husband, James; brother, Ted Layne and wife, Louise all of Appomattox; grandson, Brandon Trent and wife, Stacey of Milton WV; great-granddaughter, Bailey Trent of Uniontown, PA.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brian Trent and a brother, E.T. Layne, Jr.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 8, 2014 in Liberty Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Gene Beverly.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 4502 Starkey Road, Roanoke, VA 24014.
