Lucille Sweeney Cyrus
Appomattox: Lucille Sweeney Cyrus, 80, of Kennesaw, GA., formerly of Rt. 2, Appomattox, died Friday, December 2, 2005 in Portbridge Hospice Center, Austell, GA. She was the wife of the late Harry Ould Cyrus.
Born in Appomattox, July 16, 1925, she was a daughter of the late James Alvin and Lelia Mae Eller Sweeney. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church where she was active in the Laura Lee Stewart Circle, and the Appomattox Historical Society. Lucille was a retired seamstress with Amelia Dress Co.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Cyrus Smith and her husband, Bobby, Kennesaw, GA; a son, Steve Sweeney Cyrus, Stanley, NC; one brother, Richard A. Sweeney and his wife, Dorothy, Appomattox; and four grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Smith, Danielle Sterling Smith, Christian Sweeney Cyrus and Erica Rachel Cyrus.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Estelle S. Garrett.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 5, 2005 at Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. Daniel Dockery with burial following in the Sweeney Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 PM today (Sunday) and other times at the home of her niece, Phyllis M. Smith, Ferguson St., Appomattox.
