Love Lewis Foster, 96 of Village Highway, Concord, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Appomattox Health & Rehab Center. She was the widow of Robert D. Foster, Sr.

Love was born in Appomattox on August 3, 1916 a daughter of the late Mary Waugh and George Washington Lewis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the WMU of the church, and an honorary member of Concord Rescue Squad.

She is survived by her sons, Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Foster, Jr. and John R. Foster all of Concord, three grandchildren, Melissa Foster of Concord, Robert Foster, III of Greensboro, NC, and Desiree Bryant and John of Evington; one great-grandson, John Brantley Bryant; son-in-law, Calvin McGahuey of Concord; six sisters-in-law, Alma Lewis, Peggy Lewis, Betty Lewis, Rosena Hart, Elaine Foster and Ruby Foster; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rachel McGahuey; sisters, Martha Paulette, Faith Guy, Hope McConnell, Ruth Adie and Mary Hawkins; and brothers, Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, George Jr., James and Joseph Lewis.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church in Concord officiated by the Rev. Chad Harris and the Rev. Frank Casper. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church two hours before the service time beginning at 1:00 P.M.
