Obituary

Louise Harris Dillon, 97, of Pamplin, died Friday May 5, 2017 at UVA Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas N. Dillon.

Born in Charlotte County, April 6, 1920 she was a daughter of the late Loula Moore and Thomas Early Harris. Louise was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Louise worked for C & P Telephone Company in Lynchburg and Norfolk for eight years. She was a founding member of the Darlington Heights Bridge Club. Mrs. Dillon has been a member of the bridge club for over 50 years and was still actively playing.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Corinne Moore, Phyllis Walker (A.J.), June Wilkins (Curtis), James Martin, Robert Martin, Ann Harrup (Kurt), Lucille Bean, Frances Dressler, Charles Clodfelter (Carole), Johnny Ranson (Sue), Sue Patterson (Chris); loving caregivers, Aretha Mitchell and Barbara Hunter; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Harris and Carlton Harris; and six sisters, Lollie H. Hamilton, Reba H. Martin, Eunice Harris, Arlene Clodfelter, Katherine Cash, and Christine H. Ranson.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Paul McLinden and Rev. Roland Grenouillou officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
