Louise Mayberry Carter, 82, of Appomattox died Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harry D. Carter.
Louise was born in Evergreen on July 23, 1926, a daughter of the late Doctor Nowlin Mayberry and Virginia Elder Mayberry. She worked for the Appomattox Garment Company, and Thomasville Furniture Company and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Guill and husband, Eugene of Appomattox; one sisters, Mrs. Madeline Wright of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Robin Renee Reynolds of Evergreen, Patrick Scott Carson of Appomattox, Amanda Guill Layne and husband, Keith of Appomattox; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter, Cody and Madeline Carson, Tyler Reynolds and Brandon Cash, Sommar Moore, Caleb and Wyatt Layne.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Ronnie Rogers. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, today from 7-8:30 p.m., and other times at the residence 151 Rose Lane # 108.
