Obituary

Appomattox: Louis George Payne, 70, of Rt. 3 died Monday, February 6, 2006 at his residence. He was the husband of Sandra Zinserling Payne.
Born in Southampton, NY, January 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Louis Howell Payne and Ella Alberta Miller Payne. Mr. Payne was an US Army Veteran of the Korean War and was active with the Centereach, NY Volunteer Fire Department for over forty years. He was affiliated with the Wesley United Methodist Church in Quarryville, PA and Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Concord.
In addition to his wife, Sandy, he is survived by two daughters, Marlene E. Page and husband, Maurice of Appomattox and Denise C. Lewis and husband, Jeffrey of Long Island, NY; a brother-in-law, Ronald J. Zinserling and wife, Earline of Utich, NY; a sister-in-law, Kaye M. Kramer and husband, Keith of Pawley's Island, SC; 11 grandsons and four granddaughters.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Blake Deibler and Pastor Paul Raymond. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites accorded by American Legion Post 104.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the residence.
