Appomattox: Louis Edward O'Brien, 45, of Abandoned Mill Lane, died Friday September 14, 2007, in Roanoke Carillon Hospital.
Born in Lynchburg, February 7, 1962, he was the son of Shirley Harris O'Brien of Appomattox and the late Edward Franklin O'Brien.
Louis was a member and past deacon of New Hope Baptist Church, a graduate of Appomattox County High School, attended CVCC, and an employee of ECOR Solutions. He loved to fish, grow flowers, and was a skilled mechanic and talented builder. Louis was a friend to all and was always ready and willing to go out of his way to help anyone in need. Always cheerful and full of life, he relished every opportunity to make others laugh or brighten their day.
In addition to his mother he is survived by three sons, Lane Thomas O'Brien, Winston Cullen O'Brien both of Altavista and Collins Edward O'Brien of Appomattox; two brothers, Roger L. O'Brien and his wife Lisa, David F. O'Brien and his wife Karen; a sister, Linda O'Brien Gregory, and her husband, Howard all of Appomattox and numerous nieces and nephews. Louis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Rogers and the Rev. Howard Rosen, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and other times at the residence of his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Howard Gregory, 585 Walton Drive.
