Loraine McCormick Roberts Guill, 87, of Lynchburg passed away Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Medical Care Center.
She was the wife of the late James William Roberts who was killed in action serving in France in WWII September 18, 1944 and later married her second husband James Middleton (Motey) Guill who passed away April 20, 1966.
Born January 6, 1920 in Appomattox County, VA., she was the daughter of the late William Benjamin McCormick and the late Nettie V. Ferguson McCormick.
Loraine loved her home and entertaining her family and friends.
She was a longtime member of Fairview Christian Church and the Sunshine Bible Class.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William (Mott) McCormick, Crafton V. (Dick) McCormick , and Charles (Joe) McCormick and one sister Louise McCormick Goding.
She is survived by two sisters Mattie McCormick Martin of Lynchburg, VA., Helen R. McCormick Scott and her husband Robert I. Scott, Jr. of Appomattox, and one brother Elwood L. McCormick and his wife Evelyn G. McCormick of Forest, Va. A lot of beloved nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Family visitation will be one hour prior to service at Robinson Funeral Home in Appomattox, VA. and other times the residence of Mattie McCormick Martin, 2290 Sabine Ave. Lynchburg, VA.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel by Jean Reynolds a longtime friend and Sunday school teacher and Rev. D Jack Hamilton. Intermit will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Appomattox, VA.
