Obituary

Lloyd Edward Richardson, 91, of Pamplin passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, at The Woodland Nursing Home in Farmville. He was the husband of the late Phyllis Harvey Richardson.

Born in Appomattox, Va., on October 12, 1931, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward Richardson and Carrie Goin Richardson. Lloyd served his country as a member of the United States Army.  He was a deacon and choir member at Rocks Baptist Church.  In 1987, he retired as the Pamplin Postmaster. Lloyd was a founding member of the Pamplin Volunteer Fire Department and a member of The Rocks Quartet, Pamplin Ruritan Club, and the Pamplin Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by two sons, Ronnie Richardson and wife, Debbie of Farmville and Mike Richardson of Wilson, N.C.; four grandchildren, Brandon Richardson and wife, Alex, Brittany Webb and husband, John, Madeline Richardson, and Ryan Richardson; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Webb and Scarlett Richardson; one sister, Ruby R. Almond and husband, Joe; one brother, Otis K. Richardson and wife, Rose; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Herman H. and Patsy Richardson.

A graveside service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, March 17, 2023, at Rocks Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Lee officiating.
