Linda Gale Collins Southern, 69, of Spout Spring, died Thursday, November 29, 2018. She was the loving wife of Jessie Wayne Southern for 49 years.

Born in Pembroke, April 18, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Myers and Frank Fonzie Collins. Linda was a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church and worked for Appomattox County Public School System.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Tammy Bernice Godsey and husband, Calvin, Sr. of Moneta, Jessica Lynn Lucas and husband, Chris of Appomattox; three brothers, Charles Collins and wife, Darlene of Maben, WV, Larry Collins and wife, Alesia of Narrows, Michael Collins of Pembroke; three sisters, Charlotte Hodges of Richmond, Kathy Pyles and husband, Ray of Pearisburg, Robin Campbell and husband, Doug of Blue Ridge; three grandchildren, Calvin "Peanut" Godsey, Jr., and wife, Autumn, Andrew Driskill, Maddie Driskill; two great-granddaughters, Greenlee Godsey and Chesnee Godsey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin Wilson of Pembroke, Arnold Southern and wife, Brenda of Princeton, WV, Josephine Holdren and husband, Phillip of Rustburg, Shirley Meadows and husband, Tommy of Princeton, WV, Darlene Quesenberry and husband, Jack of Lynchburg; former son-in-law, Mike Driskill.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Marie Wilson.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Spout Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Kvasnicka and Evangelist Earl Clarkson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
