Lillian Spiggle Love, 79, of Lynchburg and formerly of Appomattox died Thursday, October 19, 2006. She was the wife of the late John Lynwood Love.
Born in Appomattox County, October 22, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Robert North and Maggie Coleman Spiggle. Lillian was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Appomattox. In 1967, she and her husband started Appomattox Diary Supply, Inc. After Lynwood's death in 1980, she continued to operate the company until her retirement in 1997.
Her love for life and others made her an instant friend and confidant to all. Lillian was a sassy lady with boundless energy and an effervescent smile. She will be remembered as a champion of concerns for people who could not speak up for themselves, especially at the assisted living facility where she has lived with grace and courage for the past seven years.
She was a beloved mother and grandmother and leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Guill of Lynchburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Mary Love of Appomattox; four grandchildren, Larry Todd Guill and his wife, Emily of Christiansburg, Ann Taylor Guill of Charleston, SC, Zachary Lynwood Love and Emily Shea Love both of Appomattox; a sister, Emma S. Totty of Appomattox and numerous nieces, nephews and dedicated friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2006 in New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Ronnie Rogers with burial following in the church cemetery. Immediately following the service there will be a reception in the church fellowship hall.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Saturday from 5 -7:00 pm and other times at the homes of her children.
