Leslie E. "Ned" Nash

Leslie E. "Ned" Nash went home to his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 16, 2012, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
He and his wife, Merle Reynolds Nash, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on July 12, 2012.
Born in Charlotte Courthouse on March 22, 1934, Ned was the son of the late Harry Jones and Cassie Roach Nash. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert "Bobby" Nash, and an infant brother and sister.
A veteran of the United States Army, Ned worked for B & W, the State Highway Department, and retired from the Division of Motor Vehicles. He also served part- time as a dispatcher for the Appomattox County Sheriff's Department. Ned was a faithful member and leader of New Hope Baptist Church in Vera, and founded and served tirelessly with its jail ministry.
He leaves behind to honor his memory three children: Tamara Nash Perry of Fredericksburg; Terri Brown Davis and her husband, Jeff, of Lynchburg; and Leslie Dean Nash and his wife, Kelly, of Parkton, Maryland. He is also survived by his adoring grandchildren: Rachel Perry, Colby and Colin Brown, and Megan and Ryan Nash.
Ned was blessed with a loving and honorable family; his sisters – in- law, Eleanor Nash, Doris Mitchell and her husband, Hugh; his brothers-in-law, Alfred Reynolds and his wife, Betsy: Ralph Reynolds and his wife, Ann; Cecil Reynolds and his wife, Margaret; and Hazel Reynolds, Jean Reynolds, and Ruby Reynolds; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
In the last months of his life, Ned was touched by the presence of attentive and kind caregivers from Hospice, and loving and gentle family members.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, from 7:00 – 8:30 PM and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July, 19 , at 1:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Vera.
