Leroy (Mutt) Pollard, 67, of Railroad Lane, Pamplin, died Friday, August 26, 2011, in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Mildred Chappell Pollard.
Born in Charlotte County, on August 23, 1944, he was a son of the late Victoria Byrd Pollard. Leroy was a member of Prospect Gospel Tabernacle and a driver for J & J Recycling.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Lee Roy Pollard, Jr.; two daughters, Angela Sue Campbell and Freddy Gunter and Sandra L. Brockwell and Tommy Mayberry all of Appomattox; one brother, Charlie Pennell and Judy of Chase City; four sisters, Patsy Bolden of Indiana, Margaret Wells of Phenix; Daisy Mawyer and Frankie of Drakes Branch, and Irean Lacks and Sammy of Keysville; grandchildren, Milton Monroe Pollard of Appomattox, Mary Victoria Campbell and David McFadden of Appomattox, and Wendy Seabolt and Joe of Oklahoma; two great grandchildren, Dakota Lee Campbell, Devon Michael Seabolt and awaiting the arrival great grandbaby Campbell. He is also survived by large extended family and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Taylor.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2011, in Prospect Gospel Tabernacle by the Rev. Gary Stoots with burial following in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church today, Sunday, August 28, 2011, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
