Leota Loomis Vaughan Wright, 72, of Morning Star Road, Appomattox, died Thursday, January 8, 2015, in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert G. Wright.
Born in Mason County, W. Va., on July 4, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Mae Taylor and Samuel Lee Loomis. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Spout Spring Ruritan and for many years she drove a school bus for Appomattox County.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James Lee and Jane Vaughan and David Lynn and Sharon Vaughan all of Appomattox; 10 grandchildren, Timothy and Tiffany Vaughan, Craig and Jessica Vaughan, Christopher Vaughan, Kandice and Brandon Hodges, Bridgett and Dan Satterwhite, Alysia and Klayton Baker, Corinn and Dustin Autry, Stewart Ore, Carter and Matt Davis, and Courtney and Martha Williams; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Herman Harman.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today (Sunday) from 4 to 6:00 p.m. and other times at her residence.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015, at Evergreen Baptist Church by Dr. Chris King with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery.
