Lenwood Henry (Joe) Brightwell. 83, of Appomattox, died Wednesday March 19, 2014 at Appomattox Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Joe was born in Charlotte Co., VA September 4, 1930 a son of the late Ellie Lee and Oscar Henry Brightwell. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.

Joe is survived by two sons, Lenwood Rodger Brightwell and wife, Nancy of Omaha, NE and Richard Wayne Brightwell and wife, Joy Marie of Colfax, NC; one daughter, Frances Elizabeth Zak of Fincastle; eight grandchildren, and two-great-grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by a sister Flora Lee Hamlett.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday March 24, 2014 in Liberty Cemetery officiated by the Rev. Jonathan Watson.
