Leon Anthony Bryant, Sr. 70, of Peaceful Meadow Rd., Spout Spring, died Thursday, January 26, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Dolly Bryant.

Born in Appomattox County, on March 2, 1941, he was a son of the late Alfred Jennings and Ruby Mayberry Bryant. Leon was a member of Freedom Word Church and a retired line leader for Thomasville Furniture.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Valerie Bryant of Wilmington, Delaware, Lisa B. Powers and husband, Jeff of Evington, and Katrina B. Tucker and husband, Ronald of Appomattox; a brother, Raymond Bryant and wife, Doris; two step-children, Laura and John Dixon all of Appomattox; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Leon Anthony Bryant, Jr.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Saturday, Jan. 28, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012,in New Hope Baptist Church by the Rev. Greg Mayhorn and the Rev. Ed Gowen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
