Obituary
Lela Childress Mann, of Appomattox, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, in the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Campbell County, on May 23, 1926 a daughter of the late Mary Virginia Austin and Fredrick E. Childress.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was formerly employed by the Appomattox Community Center.
Lela is survived by a son, Carroll B. Mann and fiancée, Cheryl G. Massie of Appomattox; two grandchildren, Robin Krimminger and husband, Christopher of Concord, N.C. and Stuart Mann Sr. and wife, Janie of Rustburg; and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor Mann, Stuart Mann Jr., Austin Mann, Taylor Krimminger, Bailey Krimminger, Melinda Bryant, Tyler Moore, and Brianna Moore.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Chewing and Georgia Shober and five brothers, Phillip, Lewis, Hubert, Stafford, and Elmo Childress.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2:00p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, in Central Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Frank Casper.
