Obituary
Lawrence Jackson Woody, 83, of Chilton Road, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Avante. He was the husband of the late Sarah Ferguson Woody.
Born in Appomattox County, February 2, 1931, he was a son of the late Charlie and Myrtle Cyrus Woody. Lawrence was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was retired from Thomasville.
He was survived by a son Lawrence Woody, of Madison Heights; three daughters, Carolyn Franklin, Jackie Hensley and Pansy King and Ronnie, all of Appomattox; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Lawrence was preceded in death by two brothers, Bootsy and Dick Woody; daughter, Hazel "Reat" Woody; granddaughter, Shana Franklin.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home, with Rev. Earnie Lucas and Dr. Rusty Small officiating. Burial will follow at Reedy Springs Baptist Church.
The Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence of Pansy King of Appomattox or Lawrence Woody, 211 Lakeview Drive, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
