Pamplin: Lawrence Hanson Webber, 74, of 148 Loblolly Hill Rd., died Wednesday, September 6, 2006. He was the husband of Edna Frances Baars Webber.
Born in Appomattox County, March 31, 1932, he was a son of the late Frank Edward and Verna Mae Farrar Webber. Lawrence was a farmer and timber cutter and a member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Lawrence Junior Webber of Appomattox; five step-children, Edna Whitehead and husband Jay, Alicia Cordell and husband Bennie, Thomas Drewry all of Appomattox, Walter Drewry and wife April of Big Island, and Ted Drewry and wife Linda of Amherst; four brothers, Billy Webber and wife Barbara, Edward Webber and wife Pearl all of Appomattox, Howard Lee Webber of Cumberland, and Henry Webber of California; four sisters, Youwilder Garrett, Ruby Berry and husband Wade all of Richmond; Lula Lewis and husband Louie of Tuggle, Mildred Ann Switzer of Alexis, Ill. and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-son, Joe Drewry; two brothers, Clarence Webber and Leslie Webber and a sister, Mabel Chapman.
Funeral service will be held 3:30 pm, Saturday, September 9, 2006, at Robinson Funeral Home with burial following in Piney Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the residence.
