Laura Lee Woody Evans, 45, of Countryside Rd., Appomattox died Friday, January 31, 2014. Born in Lynchburg, VA on October 18, 1968, she was the daughter of Bertha Webber Woody and Clarence P. Woody both of Appomattox.
She was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College and employed by Appomattox County School District as the Federal/State Grants Coordinator, Student System Specialist.
Laura is survived by her two children, Joseph Allen Bryant and Rebecca Lee Evans; a grandson, Nathan A. Bryant; a daughter-in-law, Nicole Sherman Bryant all of Appomattox; two sisters, Melodie W. McIvor of Rocky Mount and Maxcey L. Sligh of Appomattox; a brother, Richard W. Woody and wife, Miho of Oahu, Hawaii; a step-daughter, Amanda Tyree of Appomattox; and numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2014, from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Appomattox County High School Auditorium by the Rev. Al Jones. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
