Lloyd Christian Litchford, 83, of North Avenue, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Lucy Ayers Litchford.

Born in Nelson County, he was a son of the late Nettie Pearl Tyree and Lloyd Allen Litchford. Christian was a member of Bible Baptist Church and retired from Virginia Fiber. He served his country in the United States Army.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, L.C. Litchford, Jr., and wife, Uwana and Teresa Litchford Ensley all of Appomattox; three sisters, Nannie Litchford Christian of Richmond, Eunice Josephine Staton of Lynchburg and Deloris Litchford Ferguson of Appomattox; five grandchildren, Donta McCoy and Michelle, Amber Litchford, Dana Ensley, Logan Ensley, Kevin Ensley and wife, Whitney; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Ensley, Brittany Ensley, Kayle Ensley, Madson Ensley and Dakota McCoy.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Mack Litchford, Thomas Litchford, C.D. Litchford, Clyde Litchford and Bobby Litchford; two sisters, Carolyn E. Litchford and Pansy L. Jamerson .

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Watson, Rev. Darryl Martin and Rev. Robert E. Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bible Baptist Church and other times at the residence.
