Kim Reed McElroy

Kim Reed McElroy, 59, of Brookneal, VA, moved to heaven on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at his residence with his wife and daughter by his side. He is survived by his wife Dianne Strickland McElroy.

Born in Norfolk, VA, December 12, 1966. He was the son of the late Allen W. McElroy and Nancy McGhee McElroy.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his two children, Kimberly Carwile (Justin) and Bryan Coats (Melissa); one grandchild, William Coats: two brothers, Vince McElroy (Shelia) and Bruce McElroy; one sister, Kelly McElroy; and a special cousin, Tommy McElroy (Joyce).

Kim was a man of few words; however, everyone who knew him had tremendous respect for him. Kim was a lifetime farmer. His cows were his passion. You would find him day or night working on the farm, enjoying the life that farming brought him.

Although the family has requested not to have a funeral service, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 2 to 4 pm at his residence for anyone who would like to come and share a memory.
