Kenneth Coleman Blackburn
Spout Spring: Kenneth Coleman Blackburn, 79, of Tonawanda Lake Road, died Saturday June 23, 2007 at his residence. He was the husband of 56 years to Mildred Cyrus Blackburn.
Born in Lynchburg, April 19, 1928, he was the son of the late Olan and Marguerite Coleman Blackburn.
Kenneth was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 42 years, Sunday School Teacher, member of the choir, and clerk and treasurer. He was a retired loan officer from Sovran Bank, formerly First and Merchants Bank. Kenneth served his country in the Marines during the Korean War. He was an avid Duck Pin bowler, and at one time was ranked 28th with the National Duck Pin Bowling Congress.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by many nieces and nephews, including two devoted nephews, Mike Lawson, and his wife Carolyn, of Spout Spring, and Rodney Lawson, and his wife Donna, of Concord, and a devoted niece, Pam Mann, and her husband, William, Jr., of Appomattox.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday June 26, 2007, in Reedy Spring Baptist Church with the Rev. John Muth officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight (Monday) from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
