Appomattox: Katie Durie Hall, 87, of Rt. 3, died Monday, August 8, 2005 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Robert Hall.
Born in Appomattox County, November 27, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Winthrop Southwell Durie and Dora Bell Godsey Durie. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Grover and Peggy Hall of Appomattox and Clyde R. and Jean Hall of Chesapeake; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy H. and Gene Pugh of Chesapeake; two brothers, Lester "Boe" Durie of Lynchburg and Harry "Dump Durie of Appomattox; a sister, Evelyn Reynolds of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Hope and Carl Wilkins, Carl, Brian Hall, Jann and Rusty Venters, Mark Hall, Chris Hall, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hall; five great grandchildren, Lisa Wilkins, Justin Hall, Brian Hall, Hope Hall and Melissa Greer; one great great grandson, Sean Greer, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, August 12, 2005 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Jeff Worley with burial following in Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
