Obituary

Kathryn Carwile Morris, 93, of Red House, VA, died Tuesday, December 26, 2013, in Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Alonza H. (Dock) Morris.

Born in Campbell County, VA, on December 9, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Herman G. Carwile and Keturah Pillow Carwile Bowles. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Kathryn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor.

She is survived by one son, Wayne G. Morris and wife, Carolyn of Lowesville; two daughters, Carolyn M. Chambers and husband, Jack of Red House and Becky M. Shorter and husband, Billy of Appomattox; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Ann Morris of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, A. Hansford Morris, Jr. and a sister, Gloria C. Mayberry.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013, in Providence Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Curtis and the Rev. Reggie Warren. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Becky Shorter, 1062 South Fork Rd., Appomattox.
