Obituary

Kathryn (Kitty) Childers Godsey, 90, of River Ridge Rd., Appomattox died Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond Godsey for 63 years.

Born in Greensboro, NC, on November 8, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Ethel Marsh and Leonard Herman Childers, Sr. She was a member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church.

Kitty is survived by three daughters, Betty Baldwin and husband Charles of Madison Heights, Anne Franklin of Lynchburg, and Nancy Crider and husband Dick of Forest; two sons, Lynn Raymond Godsey and wife Rose, and Steve Godsey and wife Bonnie all of Appomattox; two brothers, Jerald J. Childers and Paul S. Childers and wife Nancy all of Lynchburg; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Harold and Cindy Howard; and her beloved cats, Sandy and Snoopy.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, L. H. Childers, Jr. and Thomas E. Childers.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 7-8:30 p.m.

A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, in Old Herman Cemetery, Old Courthouse Rd, by Pastor Mike Dodson.
