Kathleen Patricia Ryan Kennedy, 57, of Oakville Rd., Appomattox, died Monday, August 4, 2014, at her residence. She was the wife of Michael R. Kennedy.

Born in Newark, NJ, on April 15, 1957, she was a daughter of Yolanda Carrea Ryan of Brick Town, NJ and the late Joseph Ryan. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was employed by Appomattox Drug Store. The Relay for Life was very important to her. Kathleen went to New Jersey following Hurricane Sandy and helped restore and clean up countless houses. She was proud of the work she did. She was Jersey strong.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by four sons, Robert Walker and his wife, Jennifer of Greensboro, NC, Jonathan Walker of Appomattox, James Walker and his wife, Kimberly A. of Blacksburg, William (Billy) Walker and his wife, Mickey of Delware; two daughters, Kimberly J. Walker of Brick Town, NJ and Wendy Adams of Salisbury, NC; a brother, Joseph (Joe) Ryan; four sisters, Linda (Frank) Dowling, Debbie (Michael) Laparre, Susie Norton, and Ruthie Ryan; six grandchildren, Hailey Walker, Kaidyn Walker, Joseph (Vinny) Walker, Wesley Walker, Connor Walker, and Olivia Baker; many special nieces and nephews and her extended family.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tom Norton and a sister-in-law, Carley Ryan.
