Kathleen Smith Brown, 85, died Sunday, May 4, 2008 in Richmond. She was the wife of the late Walter Berkley Brown.
Kathleen was born in Appomattox, June 1, 1922; she was a daughter of the late Beulah Gobble Smith and David Smith. She was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Sarah Brown Calkins and Chris Calkins of Petersburg; one granddaughter Kitty Fudula and husband Greg; a great-grandson Brandon Fudula and wife Sarah all of West Point; three sisters, Verna Zopp, Etta Jennings and her husband, James all of Richmond, and Opal Carter and husband, Charles of Buckingham; two sisters-in-law Jean Brown, Bessie Smith; a brother-in-law W.A. "Dick" Franklin and wife Louise all of Appomattox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Brown Ogg; two sisters, Murna Franklin and Frances Franklin; and a brother David M. Smith.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Hollywood Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert Millis, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today, May 6, 2008 from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence of W.A. "Dick" and Louise Franklin.
