Obituary
On Tuesday, January 8, 2013, the Angel of the Lord came to carry His child, Valencia Katherine "Kathy" St. John Evans, to her eternal home.
Kathy was born in Lynchburg on April 30, 1960, the daughter of Virginia Mullins Mitchell of Appomattox and the late Robert Wayne St. John. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Jackie Ogden and her husband, Greg of Concord and Michelle Drake and her husband, Jeff of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Madison, McKayla, McKenzie, McKeelie and Charlie Ogden; two brothers, Randy St. John and his wife, Yvonne of Evington and Phillip Banton and his wife, Shannon of Appomattox; step-father, Donald Mitchell of Appomattox; step-mother, Peggy St. John of Lynchburg; nephew, Dillon Banton; two nieces, Paige St. John and Marissa Banton.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, January 11, 2013 at Central Baptist Church by the Rev. George Kreidel and the Rev. Jeff Worley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will visit with friends at the church beginning at 1:00 P.M. until time of service and other times at the residence of her mother.
