Katherine Elder Spradlin, 88, of Auto Stop Lane, Spout Spring, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at Runk and Pratt of Leesville Road. She was the wife of the late Reginald Riley Spradlin.
Born in Campbell County, Va., on July 5, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Flossie Foster and Charlie Oliver Elder. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and an active member of the Concord community through her church and her activities with the Concord Rescue Squad.
Katherine is survived by a son, Larry Spradlin and wife, Becky of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Margie S. Cain (Justin) of Richmond, Joshua K. Spradlin (Laura) of Gloucester, and Regina M. Perrow (Brian) of Columbus, Ind.; three great grandchildren, Olivia Cain, Caitlyn Cain, and David Perrow; four sisters, Mary Elder, Joyce Crawley, Sterling Tuggle and husband, Rufus all of Lynchburg, and Betty Jo St. John of Phenix; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Spradlin; a brother, Jack Elder; and three sisters, Melba Elder, Phyllis Owen, and Nancy Clark.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Dan Dibble and Pastor Larry Fitzgerald. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park at 3 p.m.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
