Mrs. Katherine Martin Moore, 97, of Countryside Drive, Appomattox, died Sunday morning October 11, 2009 at The Carrington in Lynchburg. She was the widow of Jesse Clyde Moore.
Mrs. Moore was born in Appomattox County January 28, 1912 a daughter of the late Hiram Oliver and Mallie Grow Martin. She was a homemaker and member of Memorial United Methodist Church.
Katherine is survived by her children, Jean M. LeGrand and husband, Walter; Elsie M. Burks and husband, Jack Wayne; Myrtle M. White and husband, Clarence; grandchildren, Marty L. Moore and husband, Henry C., Sharon White, Kenneth Burks and wife, Bonnie, Susan L. King and husband, Kenny, Kathy W. Watkins and husband, Robbie; great-grandchildren, Rhonda Hankins and husband, Dale, Allison Leffell and husband, Kevin, Callan Burks, Kristen Burks, Kasey Burks, Chelsea Campbell, Jessica King, Reid king, Kensley Watkins, Landon Watkins and great-great-grandchildren, Christian Hankins, Brice Hankins & Hollis Leffell; a special niece, Evalena M. Martin and special friends, Elizabeth Jamerson and Nancy O. Woody
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 13, 2009 at Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Johnson. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 P.M. Monday night October 12th and other times at the home of Walter & Jean LeGrand, Countryside drive.
