Judith (Billie) Carson Steele, 94, of Village Highway, Concord, went to her Eternal home on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. She is now in the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Saviour and reunited with her beloved husband and family. She was married to the late Wade Hampton Steele Jr. for 63 years.

Born in Amherst County, Va., on December 27, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Alice Thompson and Aurelius Burton Carson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Winston and husband, Robert (Bob) of Lynchburg; a son, Wade Hampton Steele III and wife, Cindy of Concord; five grandchildren, Karyl and Chris Bloyer, Cathy and Brian Smith, Brent and Erika Steele, Amy Steele, and Kelsey Steele; three great-grandchildren, Zachary and Sean Smith, and Kolton Childress; a sister, Frances Evans of Concord; a brother, Clarence Carson and wife, Cornelia of Spout Spring; and a devoted sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Cecil Jones of Concord.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Burton and Theodore Carson and four sisters, Ossie C. Anderson, Oneeda C. Thompson Martin, Alma C. Garrette, and Elsie C. Womack.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Casper and the Rev. Chad Harris. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at the homes of her children.
