Obituary

Joyce Alease Van Cleef, 73, of Spout Spring, died on Friday, August 12, 2011. Joyce was born in Dinwiddie County on September 1, 1937, a daughter of the late Harmon and Alease House Van Cleef.
Joyce is survived by one sister, Glenice Walton and husband, Winston of Spout Spring; one brother, M. Nelson Van Cleef of Blackstone; one sister-in-law, Juanita Van Cleef of Ford; three nieces, Edna Saul of Blackstone, Jill Harris of Spout Spring and Amanda Stoltz of Colorado; and two nephews, Roger Walton of Spout Spring and Russell Walton of Pamplin. In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by one brother, H. Roger Van Cleef.
Joyce was a retired library assistant at Central State Hospital and was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at Corinth United Methodist Church in Ford at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2011 by the Rev. Waverly Reames. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
