Joyce Marie Fitzgerald McCormick, 66, of Oakville Rd., Gladstone died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Albemarle County, May 14, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Carrington James and Florence Bryant Fitzgerald. Joyce attended Maple Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Duval Franklin McCormick, who was by her side, giving her the best of care until the very end. In addition she is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Charles Litchford of Grayson, KY, Theodora (DeeDee) and John Woody of Appomattox, Shelia and David McCormick of Gladstone, and Cindy and Joseph Litchford of Appomattox; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen F. and Gene Doss and Hazel F. and Wayne Ferguson all of Appomattox; 10 grandchildren, Clarissa (Kissy) Smith, Lana Lewis, David McCormick, Jr., Lori Porter, Charlie Litchford, Joey Litchford, Connie L. Layne, Johnnie Woody, Christopher Woody, and Whitney Litchford; 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret McFadden.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 17, 2009, at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Bryant with burial following in McCormick Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today (Friday) from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the residence.
