Joyce Darlene Gunter Loveday, 74, of Old Courthouse Road, Appomattox, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of Woodrow W. Loveday for 53 years.

Born in Appomattox County, Va., on August 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Fannie Maude Bryant and Paul Edward Gunter. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and retired from the Appomattox County Middle School Cafeteria.

In addition to her loving husband she is survived by two sons, Troy Wilson Loveday and Todd Gregory Loveday both of Appomattox; a daughter, Tiffany Loveday Droog of Crewe; two exceptional grandchildren, Hayley Overton and Collin Overton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Mitchell Gunter and Roy Gunter and a sister, Hilda Marie Gunter.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Robinson Funeral Home by Pastor Jeff Worley.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
