Joyce Almond, 66, of Sunnydale Avenue, Appomattox, died Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the loving wife of Robert Willis Almond.

Born in Lynchburg, December 23, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Mann and John Thomas Goin, Sr. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Mark Allen Almond and Phillip Edward Almond and wife, Cheri all of Lynchburg; one brother, John T. Goin, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Concord; a sister-in-law, Helen Bradley of Crewe; dear friends, Clyde and Carolyn Price of Richmond and Brenda Kidd of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Lauren Slayton and husband, Evan, Haydon Almond and Trever Almond; niece and nephews, Stephanie Alvis and husband, Rusty of Concord, Bruce Bradley and wife, Kacie of Chester and Steve Bradley and wife Melissa of Blackstone; eight great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her step father Boozie Edward Mann.

A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Small officiating.
