Obituary

Joyce Martin Coleman, 91, of Spout Spring, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in the Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, March 3, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Sidney M. and Etta Bingham Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Coleman, Sr., son, Floyd C. "Buddy" Coleman, Jr., son-in-law, William T. Drewer, Jr.; brothers, Charlie, Buster and Lincoln Martin; and sisters, Lois Coleman, Mary Jane Burcher, and Bessie Cobbs. She was a homemaker, a devoted caregiver, and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Samuel M. Coleman and wife, Amy of Spout Spring; daughters, Isabelle C. Drewer of Newport News, and Carolyn C. Martin and husband, Charles of Lynchburg; daughter-in-law, Sandra O. Coleman of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Beth S. Wheeler and husband, Wayne of Chesterfield, Chris T. Drewer and wife, Blythe of Baltimore, Maryland, Ronald F. Coleman of Tampa, Florida, Amanda C. Goodman and husband, Darrell of Columbus, Ohio, Kristy C. Evans and husband, Andy of Richmond, Kimberly C. Lundie and husband, Ronald of Chesterfield, Dawn M. Walker and husband, Brian of Richmond, Brett A. Martin of Forest; and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, March 13, 2009, at Reedy Spring Baptist Church with the burial following at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Spout Spring by the Rev. John Muth and the Rev. Randolph Martin. The family will receive friends Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 pm and other times at the home of Jill and Sammie Scott, 2076 Snapps Mill Rd., Spout Spring.
