Joseph (Joe) Sone Watson Sr., 64, of Church Street, Appomattox, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Pamela Goin Watson.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on January 11, 1950, he was a son of the late Betty Riley and Herman Foster Watson. Joe was employed by Harris Corporation, a US Marine Corps veteran, and attended Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth (Beth) and Richard Notestein of South Boston and Crystal and Dustin Wilhoit of Appomattox; four grandchildren, Rachel Fitzgerald and Teddy, Summer Notestein and significant other, Ryan Hix, Skylar Wilhoit, and Mannix Wilhoit; three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Mason, and Bently; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Ralph Ferguson of Appomattox, Juanita and Lennie Mitchell of Altavista, Florence and Donald Baldwin, and Kirkie and Jimmy Campbell all of Pamplin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph (Joey) Watson, Jr.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Dr. Bob Phillips. Burial will follow in Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence.
