Obituary

Rev. Joseph Dillard (JD) Mayberry 71, of Appomattox went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 20, 2013.
JD was born July 15, 1942 in Appomattox a son of the late Mary Odell and Floyd Twyman Mayberry.
He was a long time pastor of The Church of God as well as multiple nursing home ministries. He was a machinist for 39 years at Limitorque/Flowserve.
JD loved hunting and fishing with his special friend, Noah Hickman and his wife, Sandra.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Sandra Jean Cyrus Mayberry, three sons, Joseph T. (Reno) Mayberry and his wife, Deann of Lynchburg; Darrell Mayberry and his wife, Robin of Appomattox; and Mark Mayberry and his wife Marlene of Charlottesville; his daughter and special Angel, Stephanie Mayberry of Lynchburg; two sisters, Mildred Sherlin and her husband, Charles and Betty M. Dotson and her husband, Alfred; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Twyman Mayberry, Joe Jessie Mayberry and Allen (Pokey) Mayberry and two sisters, Mary McGatha and Gloria Jean Caldwell.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday August 23, 2013 at Robinson Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Evans. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 7-8:30 PM Thursday August 22, 2013 and other times at the residence.
In lieu of Flowers the family requests memorials be made to Amazing Grace Ministries, 101 Morgan Street, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
