Obituary

John Lawson Wooldridge, 86, of Trent Hatchery Rd., Appomattox, died Thursday, December 25, 2008 at his residence.
Born in Appomattox County, February 8, 1922, he was a son of the late James E. and Emma Jane Jennings Wooldridge. John was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church for 74 years, a US Navy veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion Post #104, and a retired mason for N & W Railroad.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Katherine Langford Wooldridge; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Joan Wooldridge; a grandson, Eric Wooldridge; and a granddaughter, Lauren Wooldridge all of Forest.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Langford Wooldridge and three sisters, Rosa Mae Abbitt, Vivian Melton and Hazel W. Guill.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2008 in Evergreen Baptist Church by Dr. Chris King with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home today from 3-5 pm and other times at the residence.
The family wishes to express their thanks to a special niece, Suzanne Mitchell and her husband Mike and a great nephew, Chris Mitchell and his wife, Jamie for their dedication and care for John and Katherine.
