John Paul Rothgeb, 78, of Southfork Rd, Appomattox, died Monday, November 24, 2014, at his residence.
Born on October 1, 1936 in San Antonio, TX, John was a son of the late Mable L. Fetters and Jacob Best Rothgeb, Sr. He was a 1955 graduate of Appomattox High School who served in the US Air Force with the Strategic Air Command. After returning from service, he worked for GE as an Electronic Radar Technician.
John is survived by a son, John Eric Rothgeb of Concord; two brothers, Edward L. Rothgeb, and his wife, Joan of Shipman, VA and W.M. (Deetsie) Rothgeb and his wife, Mary of Jasper, TX; one sister, Shirley R. Randall and her husband, Gene of Radford; four grandchildren, Justin, Seth, Ashley and Alex; one great grandson, Braylon; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, JoAnn Lawrence and Joe and Linda Coflin.
He was preceeded in death by one brother, Jacob Best Rothgeb, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2014, at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Russell Cheatham. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Appomattox.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
