John David Moses, 73, of South James River Highway, Wingina, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Gwen Moses.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on January 16, 1944, he was a son of the late Blanch Reynolds and Leonard Jet Moses. He was long time member of Red Oak Hunt Club.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two step-children, Ricky Burnley and wife, Chrissy of Wingina and Shelia Copley and husband, Chris of Farmville; four grandchildren, Ricky Burnley, II and wife, Ashley, Herman Burnley and wife, Jennifer both of Wingina, Colton Copley and Caylen Copley both of Farmville; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Callie Burnley; a brother, William Moses of Appomattox, two sisters, Bernice Armstead of Lynchburg and Madaline Mason of Gladys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen Moses.
A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Maple Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastor Jeff Worley.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 until 8:30 pm at Robinson Funeral Home.
