John Randolph Harris, 82, of Oakville Road, Appomattox, departed God's beautiful world, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, after a long illness.

Born in Lynchburg, Va., on December 4, 1939, he was a son of the late Ruby Louise Harris Harris and Robert Lee Harris.  John was a life-long member of Red Oak Baptist Church and Chestnut Mountain Hunting Club. He was an avid farmer and together with his dedicated wife, Sara they ran the farm they loved so much.

He is survived by his soul mate and most devoted and loving wife of 62 years, Sara Adams Harris; one daughter, Sherri Godsey and husband, Kendell of Myrtle Beach, SC; one grandson, Kody Godsey and wife, Alyssa of Middletown, PA; and two sisters, Shirley H. Moore and husband, Wallace and Mary Francis H. Moore.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Red Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bud Reid officiating.
