Obituary

John Jackson Gillette, Jr., 64, of Tonawanda Lake Rd., died Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at his residence.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on February 18, 1946, he was a son of the late Verna (Nellie) Ferguson and John Jackson Gillette, Sr. John was a member of Liberty Baptist Church,a member of Spout Spring Ruritan Club, a US Navy veteran, and a retired employee of W. A. Stratton Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Alice Brumfield Gillette; son and daughter-in-law, J. Mike and Katie Harrup Gillette of Lynchburg; four grandsons, Owen Michael, Chase Bryan, Tatum Walker, and Aden Sawyer Gillette; his mother-in-law, Cora Towler Brumfield of Altavista; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte E. Scruggs of Gretna and Aileen B. Booker and husband, Lee of Brookneal; a brother-in-law, Gary W. Brumfield and wife, Ellen of Lynch Station; a nephew, Jarrett Booker of Brookneal and a niece Beth S. Senseney of Raleigh.NC.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday February 19, 2011 at Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. Frank Crawford and the Rev. Rick Caldwell. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home Friday February 18, 2011 from 7-8:30 P.M. and other times at the residence.
