John Samuel Dixon, Sr., 48, of Patterson St., Appomattox, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Lynchburg, Va., on March 5, 1963, he was a son of Anna Lee McFadden Dixon and his step-father, Robert (Bobby) Markland of Appomattox. He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Dixon Jr. and a brother, William Lee Dixon, Sr.
In addition to his mother and step-father he is survived by two children, John Samuel Dixon, Jr. and Laura Fay Dixon both of Appomattox; a grandson, Christopher Dixon; a brother, James Wayne Dixon, Sr. of Lynchburg; a sister, Mary Ann Clay of Brookneal; and the mother of his two children, Dolly Faye Bryant.
Graveside funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2011, Gladstone Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service on Monday from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home.
